We are working with The Finish Line in their search for a Search Marketing Manager based in Indianapolis, IN (home of the COLTS and the Indy 500). Finish Line, Inc. is a leading athletic retailer offering the best selection of brand name footwear, apparel and accessories. Position Description:
Summary: Develops and executes the plan for all external marketing programs that drive traffic and sales to the Finish Line website. Oversees Affiliate Marketing Specialist and generates marketing partnerships to drive increased sales. Duties:
- Serves as the primary position for driving traffic to the Finish Line website.
- Manages Paid Search Marketing Programs.
- Manages the relationship with 3rd party vendors such as Google and Yahoo.
- Determines sales plan by projecting traffic levels by month for each site and estimating conversion.
- Directs the vendors to build out certain keywords.
- Responsible for ensuring all URLs are pointing to the accurate place.
- Negotiates and bids on keywords and determines the ranking and placement of keywords.
- Analyzes the traffic and sales of these programs to ensure that they hit their financial sales goal.
- Manages Shopping Comparison Programs.
- Manages the relationship with 3rd party vendors such as Channel Advisor and manages direct relationships with sites such as shopping.com and amazon.com by providing direction on what is to be included in the feed, which vendors the feed is to be allocated to, how often the feeds should be sent, and meta data on the site.
- Coordinates the workflow of the Finish Line development team to ensure that all data feeds are accurate.
- Analyzes the traffic and sales of these programs to ensure that they hit their financial sales goals.
- Directs Natural Search Marketing Programs.
- Directs third party vendors and in-house associates in building out keywords.
- Analyzes the traffic and sales of these programs to ensure that they hit their financial sales goals.
- Assumes financial responsibility for recommending company spend and providing logic behind the applicable ROI.
- Directs Affiliate Programs.
- Oversees Affiliate Program by leading and directing the Affiliate Marketing Specialist to execute and achieve applicable financial goals.
- Directly supervises one Affiliate Marketing Specialist.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Education & Skills/Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university.
- Experience required includes at least 5 years of managing a complex paid placement e-commerce web marketing experience in paid/natural search, shopping comparison sites, affiliate marketing, and 2 years of supervising others in the e-commerce field.
- Must be an effective negotiator and communicator with internal and external individuals at all levels. This includes spoken, written, electronic, and presentation skills. Communication should be consistently constructive and professional. Must be a good team player.
- Must have paid search management experience, including managing a 100+K Keyword program. Must have managed an annualized $5MM paid search budget.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Decisions involve moderately complex issues with a limited number of variables. In addition to affecting the functional area as well as cross-functional team members, decisions made affect the overall success of the E-Commerce business.
- Highly complex issues involve communication and collaboration with the VP E-Commerce Marketing and Merchandising.
- Must be able to approach unfamiliar situations, projects, and opportunities with confidence and curiosity.
