One of the coolest VP Ecommerce jobs around …
We are working with North America Savings Bank (“NASB”) in their search for a VP of Ecommerce based in Grandview, MO. A locally-owned community bank with over $1 billion in assets, NASB has provided strong, conservative financial leadership for the Greater Kansas City area since 1927.
NASB operates nine deposit branch locations, three residential loan origination offices, and one residential construction loan origination office, primarily in the greater Kansas City area. The Bank also originates commercial real estate loans from its headquarters in Grandview, Missouri. Consumer loans are offered through the Bank’s branch network.
About the Role
As NASB’s new VP of Ecommerce, you will be responsible for implementation of NASB’s ecommerce strategy across all business lines and customer channels, and you’ll work closely with senior management to define objectives for ecommerce and aid in developing platforms and marketing plans using ecommerce to increase revenue.
You will collaborate with IT and marketing to drive sales, improve customer experience, and provide all stakeholders with accurate information and the digital means to act on them. Additionally, you’ll assure compliance with all applicable advertising and electronic regulatory compliance standards. That’s hugely important.
You will be responsible for the ongoing testing of all landing pages and digital assets, while offering periodic funnel analysis of the firm’s channels (along with budget VS actual penetration, conversion, and abandonment rates) for the benefit of senior officers.
Finally, you can plan on monitoring industry and competitive trends while analyzing potential risks and opportunities for the firm. Naturally, you’ll need a very strong knowledge of social media channels, PPC, SEO, HTML, keyword selection and bidding, and web content creation. It’s up to you and your team to improve NASB’s site functionality, interfaces, and services to improve the firm’s brand exposure and customer acquisition initiatives.
HARRY’S COMMENTS: This is the second time I’ve handled this search, and I say that in a good way. Before being poached by a competitor, NASB’s first VP of Ecommerce (whom I placed at NASB) was tasked with developing and executing the bank’s plans to enhance its online lead generation and conversion optimization efforts. By all accounts, my candidate was successful — which is why NASB hit me up again for this search.
Before we continue …
If you are interested in this job, I would strongly encourage you to click here to read my detailed posting for this role in 2014. You’ll be really glad you did.
What’s different this time around?
No doubt about it, the first VP did a lot to get the bank’s ecommerce initiatives off the ground. She led a strong team to do organic and paid search, her team built a website, and she put in place an excellent lead management system. Today, NASB is significantly less dependent on its paid lead generation vendors then it was prior to 2014, yet there’s still a lot of opportunity in the area of organic search.
In this role, “Job One” involves lead management and lead production for NASB’s mortgage lending business. However, there’s no denying the applicability of digital to nearly everything the bank does. Not only must you be able to think analytically about how NASB can better source new customers for its home mortgage business, but you must also be able to think strategically about how NASB can better deliver its products and services digitally.
A strong knowledge of analytics is essential to your success in this role.
In this position it’s essential that you take a systematic approach to understanding what NASB’s customers need. Success in digital banking demands a systematic approach, and to win in this role you won’t be able to rely solely on instinct to understand what’s working, what isn’t, and what NASB’s best opportunities are for growth. We’re looking for someone who can observe customer behavior across channels and devices to accurately discern where the best opportunities lie for growth and efficiency.
Be prepared to bust out the data!
There’s so much potential to grow the business, and the last two years have seen NASB really spread its wings in the digital space. NASB’s management remains resolutely committed to increasing the bank’s share of internally sourced leads, and it would like to see the new VP sourcing leads in broader, deeper (less niched) markets. Additionally, as important as lead generation is, NASB’s management would like to see the new VP develop other aspects of digital. The company has lots of technology geeks on staff …
What we need here is a world-class marketer!
We’re looking for someone who knows how to execute! We’re looking for a business oriented customer acquisition gunslinger who is “heavy in analytics” and knows how to look at the numbers and identify changes that need to be made to the business in light of both the associated hard and soft costs and benefits. We’re looking for someone who can manage a large team and communicate effectively both up and down the organization.
Is that you??
As usual, I spent a crazy amount of time on the phone with NASB’s hiring committee teasing out what it’ll take for you to kill it during your first year on the job. Additionally, I have TONS of market research to share with qualified candidates. You definitely don’t want to apply without this intel!
To apply for this job, simply text [your name] + NASB to (404) 281-2025. Or better yet, simply use the links I’ve included at the bottom of this posting. I look forward to chatting with you soon!
