FKQ seeks an energetic, career-oriented public relations professional with 4 or more years of full-time public relations experience in consumer and/or travel/tourism portfolios to join their team as a Public Relations Manager. This individual will focus on the day-to-day management of client projects using a full arsenal of Public Relations tools, including media relations, social media, community relations and experiential events. We are looking for candidates who have strong writing skills in addition to proven experience with social media platforms.


  • Oversees the day-to-day client projects and/or events to ensure the quality of work meets Client’s objective and provides value
  • Develops and cultivates relationships with Clients and external audiences
  • Recommends and implements initiatives that improve the public’s perception of the Client
  • Maintains clear and consistent communication between the Client and FKQ Advertising
  • Contributes to the development of communication plans for Client
  • Plan, execute and manage all aspects of consumer promotional events
  • Participates in new business development and supports organizational initiatives
  • Handles specialty writing and strategic media relationships
  • Acts as primary resource for issues-oriented writing and executive level commentary
  • Develops media angles for major outlets and enhances key relationships with major media contacts
  • Effectively measure and deliver quantifiable reporting of program success and ROI
  • Select, work with and effectively manage outside vendors, as needed and required
  • Manage client budgets efficiently and effectively
  • Execute and demonstrate use of industry and crowdsourcing research
  • Offers non-traditional ideas to address Clients’ opportunities
  • Manages postings on Clients’ social media platforms
  • Participates in creative brainstorms
  • Proactively develop relationships with external audiences (media, third party constituencies, etc.) to convey Client’s message
  • Develop positive, trusted business relationships that reflect FKQ’s client-focused “whatever it takes” philosophy and culture


  • Ability to develop and deliver presentations and produce program outline for creative brainstorms
  • Previous agency experience and/or a clear understanding of Client relationships and agency structure
  • Advanced writing skills, including proficiency in editing and composition.
  • Creative problem solving skills
  • Experience in crisis communications and ability to work well under pressure
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Proven relationships with the media, with preference given to existing Tampa Bay area media relationships
  • Advanced understanding of media (key trade publications and national outlets)
  • Familiarity with the newest media outlets
  • Demonstrated experience in project management and strategy execution
  • Ability to work efficiently and independently within a team environment
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends, as necessary
