One of the coolest ecommerce jobs around!

ALLAN’S COMMENTS: We are working with a leading KC-based supplier of specialty and high-performance automotive ignition, fuel delivery, and exhaust products in its search for a world-class Director of Ecommerce.

Unless you currently live in metro Kansas City, Kansas, you will be required to relocate and work onsite five days per week.

Among car enthusiasts, our client has TONS of street cred. (I say that as a gearhead who has been customizing cars since I was 16). The authenticity is palpable.

The client was the first company to offer products to convert points-and-condenser ignition systems to fully electronic systems and continues to be the go-to brand for those products. Its fuel delivery products enjoy widespread popularity by gearheads everywhere, and its exhaust products appeal to both hot rod and modern muscle enthusiasts.

Gearheads, hot rodders and enthusiasts: Talk about a rabid subculture! They’ve got a way of thinking and a language all their own that is content and keyword-rich to be harnessed for SEO, paid search and social engagement.

Our client has been in this business for a long time, and with the heady growth of the high-performance segment, they have succeeded due to their passion for go-fast products.

Its Ignitor kit sales have blown past 4 million units, and its other ignition, fuel system and exhaust parts represent its steadfast commitment to lead the market.

Beyond the street applications, its products are regarded as the premier products in motorsports, featured prominently on racing teams, including NHRA, NASCAR and grassroots racers. Its brands have grown significantly, as automotive enthusiasts seek brands that have that authentic connection to all the segments in the industry: hot rods, muscle cars, resto-mods, classic restorations, trucks, SUVs, modern muscle, lowriders, street, strip, track and off-road.

About the Role

This position is an integral part of the client’s company-wide ecom efforts, including DTC/B2C/online retail, as well as B2B. Currently, the firm is selling DTC, but the management team views DTC as one of its highest strategic priorities, and it is committed to the support of this new Director: you’ll have the capital, people, technology and agency support to make stuff happen.

As the company’s new Director of Ecommerce, you will be accountable for the execution of the company’s entire online business — which means you will work closely with all internal and external stakeholders to achieve revenue and profitability goals.

This will be a pivotal role and a unique opportunity to build and scale the client’s DTC business. This is not just another job; it’s a chance to lead a transformative journey. You will be at the helm of the client’s online strategy, working closely with a supportive management team to achieve ambitious revenue and profitability goals.

Here’s why this role is exciting:

  • Innovate and Lead: You will have the autonomy to develop and execute a comprehensive ecommerce roadmap. Your vision will shape the future of the client’s online business.
  • Support and Resources: With full backing from the client’s CEO, board and investors, you will have the resources you need to succeed. That includes access to capital, technology and agency support.
  • Strong Market Presence: The firm’s products are highly regarded in the automotive industry and enthusiast community. You will be building on a strong foundation with a loyal customer base.
  • Growth Potential: The high-performance automotive market is booming. By capturing more of this market through strategic ecommerce initiatives, you will drive significant growth for the company.
  • Kansas City: Relocate to a vibrant community with a lower cost of living. Work onsite with a passionate team committed to achieving excellence.
  • Your Impact: You will be instrumental in transforming the firm’s ecommerce business from a small operation into a major revenue driver. With a multi-million dollar B2B business and a nascent DTC business as your foundation, you will have ample opportunity to capture market share and increase profitability.
