HARRY’S COMMENTS: In its search for a world-class Director of Growth, we are working with a technology-driven ecommerce company specializing in print-on-demand (POD) production and fulfillment. My kickoff call with this client’s hiring committee lasted 112 minutes, and I am BUSTING with confidential information about this fully remote opportunity.

About the Company

You’ve seen products like this before, but you’ve likely never thought about where they come from, or how big the market is: Custom-printed Blankets & Throws (that say things like “Go BLUE!”); Towels (“Visit Panama City”); Baby Accessories (bibs, swaddles, etc); Pillows; and Doormats (“Home Sweet Home”).

My client 1./ prints high-quality, fullcolor designs onto fabric, 2./ cuts the printed material into precise shapes and patterns and 3./ sews the material to create a finished product. Not easy to do. They run a big business with a huge, state of the art facility, and employ a highly professional team.

The company markets across multiple channels, including two DTC ecom sites and several 3P marketplaces (Amazon, Etsy), and it has B2B fulfillment partnerships with many well-known brands. The firm combines cutting-edge digital print technology, manufacturing expertise, and ecommerce infrastructure to offer rapid production and customization services.

The firm is financially stable and unconstrained by private equity, allowing it to focus on long-term, strategic growth. Its goal is to significantly scale its revenue over the next few years by expanding its marketplace presence, launching new brands, and optimizing its digital marketing strategy.

About the Market

The client operates primarily in two markets: Print-on-Demand (PoD) and Cut-and-Sew Apparel Manufacturing. Both markets have their own strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.

Broadly speaking, Print-on-Demand (PoD) is on fire, growing at a 25% CAGR and projected to hit $39 billion by 2031. Growth is being fueled by ecommerce entrepreneurs, the creator economy, and the shift toward ultra-customized products. Companies like Printful and Printify (which merged in 2024) are dominant, but they cater to broad, generic audiences. That leaves a wide-open lane for niche players who can compete on speed, product differentiation, and quality.

Meanwhile, the cut-and-sew apparel manufacturing market is a $2.4 billion industry that’s shrinking internationally, while there’s strong demand for premium, high-quality, made-in-the-USA customization (ahem!). That’s where my client fits in, with its modern manufacturing facilities, faster turnarounds, tighter quality control, and real competitive leverage.

This role isn’t about keeping the lights on. It’s about stepping on the gas. The company has operational firepower, a production moat, and a clear shot at growth — but it needs an ecom leader who knows how to bring it on home.

About the Role

My client seeks a proven Director of Growth to lead and execute its ecommerce and marketplace expansion strategy. This is an entrepreneurial, hands-on leadership role that will drive revenue growth across DTC, Amazon, and other ecommerce channels. The right candidate will have the opportunity to shape its go-to-market strategy, optimize customer acquisition, and build a scalable growth engine.

This is a high-impact role with direct responsibility for growing revenue to 8-figures/up by 2027. In this position, YOU will be will be the architect of the firm’s growth strategy, directly influencing revenue outcomes. You’ll be a key marketing leader in a fast-growing, high-potential company with financial backing and operational strength.

This is not a turn-around.

You’ll be working closely with 1./ experienced operators, 2./ a family-office-backed leadership team, and 3./ cutting-edge production capabilities. This is a transformational role for someone who wants to lead a company through its next major growth phase.

If you are an entrepreneurial digital marketer and ecommerce expert who loves scaling businesses, launching brands, and optimizing revenue channels, we want to hear from you.
